Who can I sue after a traffic- related car accident?

If you have been involved in a car accident have suffered injuries or property damage, you may sue the driver of the other car. Suing the driver of the other car, however, will depend on a number of factors, including the laws in your state, the other driver’s insurance coverage, and whether or not the driver has insurance to cover your injuries and damages.

If the at-fault driver does not have insurance coverage, you may sue the driver personally. It is important to note that if the other driver does not have insurance, it is quite evident that he/she does not have adequate assets to pay for a lawsuit. Therefore, it is most likely that you may not recover anything.

The next option is to file a claim with your own insurance company under your uninsured motorist benefits. However, your uninsured motorist benefits cannot exceed the amount of your primary coverage.

  7. I have been in a serious car accident in Connecticut. I need to get compensated as soon as possible to pay my bills. But I am getting mixed opinions on whether I should hire a lawyer to represent my case or handle it on my own. What can I expect from a car accident lawyer if I hire one?

    1. "It is always a good idea to hire a car accident attorney as soon as possible. This is because you’ll want to avoid any complications or expenses that aren’t necessary. It is always best to hire your car accident attorney immediately after you’ve been injured due to the opposing party’s negligence, so they can work to win back your damages. You will also want the attorney to deal with the insurance companies on your behalf to make sure you receive maximum compensation.

    1. In New York, the minimum auto insurance plan must cover no fault, liability, and uninsured motorists. This means that if you’re involved in a crash and the other driver is either uninsured or underinsured, your costs will be covered by your insurance policy. The process of collecting compensation from an uninsured driver is often complicated and usually involves going through the court system.
