Here are some reasons why you should hire a workers’
compensation lawyer:
·
Your employer may deny you your claim, or you may
fail to receive your benefits promptly.
·
Your employer may retaliate against you for
filing a workers’ compensation claim.
·
Your employer’s settlement offer may not cover
all lost wages or medical bills.
·
Your employer may deny your disability benefits
·
You may have a potential third party claim.
My husband suffered a serious injury at a construction site he was working in. We thought he was only eligible for benefits under workers’ compensation. However, a friend of mine informed me that we could also file a claim for lost wages and medical expenses. Is it true?
ReplyDeleteMost injured workers do not know, nor would their employers voluntarily divulge this information to them, that the workers’ compensation board is not the only place an injured worker can turn to for compensation after a debilitating injury. Workers’ compensation prevents a worker from bringing a personal injury claim against his or her employer, but that does not mean that the worker cannot make a claim for lost wages and medical expenses they incurred as a result of an injury on the job.
